This week, Impact Hub is hosting Audio Backyard on Wednesday, October 26th. The event showcases local BBQ, music, and art. Bry-Sone! is a Bay Area local. He grew up in a large family in East Palo Alto. His father frequently played the bass guitar or had his fingers dancing on the keys, so it was only natural for Bry-Sone! to create his own music. He shares his RnB and Hip Hop sound with his new album, The Black Sheep.
What inspires you to create music?
I create music because it’s the only things that allows me to be myself and it gives me a voice. I want to use music as a platform to travel the world.
Why do you create music?
What drives me is just living everyday. Getting to wake up and eat with a roof over my head is a blessing.
How does music define your community?
In my community music brings everyone together. From open mics to block parties, Hip Hop to island music. Live bands, singers, rappers and dancers. It’s endless for it to be such a small town.
How would you describe your style of music?
My music draws from 90s RnB and Hip Hop. Positive and timeless lyrics with a captivating cadence. My sound is influenced by Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Lil Wayne and Tupac.
What are future plans? Where do you want music to take you?
My future plans are to have music take me places I’ve never been before. At the end of the day I want to be known as a leader, someone who inspires and helps others and bring change to the world not just as an artist. Music will help me create lanes and avenues that I never thought I would’ve been able to do. As an artist it is my duty to spread my art and inspire others to do the same.
If you weren’t creating music, what would you be doing?
If I weren’t creating music I would be an actor. Which is my next step after music.
What’s you favorite album right now?
My favorite album right now is “The Black Sheep”
